Description
[Taken from a post from NasakiiStudios.com]
A couple weeks ago, our Art History teacher assigned us a Woodcut/Engraving project. The idea was to recreate the print that would result from the engraving. We had around 3 weeks to do the project, and I started and finished it tonight (talk about cutting it close!) We were directed to draw our own fantasy creature, something from the references given. I couldn't think of a monster I'd enjoy drawing and I'm not much for making up monsters. Instead I drew Donkey Kong. He's kind of a monster right?
This time we had rules: Must be on cardstock paper, and done in ink (no digital workings.) Of course this destroyed me, eliminating the computer out of the mix. With that said, I'm not very happy with the final product since I'm not used to using traditional media (other than sketching) ever since I purchased a tablet.

Tools used:
2b pencil
Sketchbook paper and cardstock paper
Micron 08 Black Archival pen
drafting tape
